The Auckland Foundation Year (AFY) has been developed in conjunction with The University of Auckland to assist high caliber students to attain the entry requirements needed for undergraduate study here.
Welcoming students from all around the world
AFY courses support international students in gaining essential subject knowledge, study skills, computer skills, and a high functioning level of English language. The programmes are delivered at Taylors College in Auckland, a bright, modern learning environment in the centre of the city, where students are provided with all the academic, technical and pastoral support they need to succeed at university in New Zealand.
Established in 1883, The University of Auckland enjoys a highly respected international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research. It welcomes successful AFY students into all of its eight faculties where they can choose from a wide range of undergraduate degrees, from anthropology to law and business to engineering.
Three AFY courses are available depending on the student’s academic needs and level of English:
- the Intensive Programme (31 weeks)
- the Standard Programme (40/39/36 weeks)
- the Pre-Foundation Programme (60/58 weeks)
